Reasons Why Everyone Believe Boston Celtics Will Beat The Miami Heat In The Conference Finals

No need to doubt it just going to break it down to you in a simple way. Fresh off a hard-fought seven-game series victory over the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Boston Celtics have now shifted its focus to the Miami Heat where they will face-off in the Eastern
Conference Finals. The winner will represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.

While many expected the Celtics to be in the conference finals, one way or another this season, the same can’t be said about the Heat. Miami is a team that took the East by storm in the playoffs and has only lost once in this postseason. Ironically enough, it was in the game that Giannis Antetokounmpo left with an injury.

After sweeping the Indiana Pacers in round 1 and then closing out the Milwaukee Bucks in five games in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Heat have become a trendy pick in the East. Taking the reins as a true underdog, it’s difficult to hate on Miami’s story this season.

Heading into a series that has many storylines, this won’t be an easy series to predict. The Celtics beat the Heat two out of the three times during the regular season. Interestingly enough, Game 1 will be the first time the Heat plays Boston after rest. During their three meetings this season, Miami has played Boston each time on the second night of a back-to-back.

Will that matter? Perhaps, perhaps not.

How will the series end? Who knows, and we’ll know more after Game 1, but if the Boston Celtics are going to win this series and advance to the NBA Finals, here are three reasons why.

After an impressive defensive showing against the Milwaukee Bucks, many will be expecting the Heat to try and lock down a single threat on the Boston Celtics. There’s one big problem with that possible game plan or idea. And it’s that the Celtics have more than one true threat on the offensive end.

Unlike the Bucks, the Celtics have four players that can burn you – in the way of scoring 30 points – on any given night. How are the Heat supposed to shut down Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart simultaneously? Short term answer: they can’t. Miami will have to focus on one of two players and then will have to hope their overall team defense will be enough to hold up on the backend.

Miami won’t be able to shut down the Celtics offensive and will have to hope that Boston can’t shut down the Heat’s point of attack on the other end. The Celtics have too many weapons and can beat you a myriad of ways. Brad Stevens knows this and you better bet that he’s going to take advantage of this truth.
